Overview

Caustic soda, or sodium hydroxide, is a strong alkali that neutralises acids, turns fats into soap and breaks down organic soils. In flake form it is easy to weigh, store and dissolve on site.

Our flakes contain at least 99% sodium hydroxide with low carbonate and chloride content. They are packed in moisture-proof bags and stored under cover, so they reach you free-flowing rather than caked.

Handling note

Dissolving caustic soda releases a lot of heat. Add the flakes slowly to cold water while stirring, and wear gloves, goggles and protective clothing.
